Middelburg 17 mei 1940

Middelburg werd, evenals Rotterdam, op 17 mei 1940 door Nazi-Duitsland gebombardeerd om het Nederlandse verzet te breken en Nederland tot capitulatie te dwingen. Hoe Middelburg er na dit bombardement uitzag is te zien op onderstaande foto's.

Middelburg, as well as Rotterdam, was bombed on May 17, 1940 by the Germans to break the Dutch resistance and to force the Dutch Government towards capitulation. How Middelburg was after this bombing can be seen on the pictures below.
